Our motto, “We Teach the Kindest Generation” encompasses all that we hope to achieve at The Kindest School, as each of our members will be given the opportunity to have a choice in how they learn, and a voice in what they learn.

We adhere to the needs of 21st century learners who exhibit a growth mindset, are strong independent learners, and who are looking to strengthen their empathy for the world around them.

True education comes when we allow children to take ownership in their own learning, and we help guide them to make the most of their time, by providing them with purposeful learning opportunities.

WHY ENROLL AT THE KINDEST SCHOOL?

WHY HOMEROOM?

Each family will meet monthly with their certified educator, who will monitor and report academic progress in the foundational literacies (reading, math, environmental science, global studies) along with twenty-first-century skills and competencies (computer science, foreign language, and digital citizenship.) Our educators will help each student create a personal learning program that will help them get into their college of choice or get them a job in the field of their choice right out of high school.

An environmentally friendly school, The Kindest School will not use any textbooks, as they will be replaced by over 100,000 online or offline classes, which will allow our students to learn from skilled professionals in the areas that interest them the most.

All of this learning will culminate, not in report cards, but in a learning portfolio that showcases projects created after completion of online courses. Portfolios will also highlight the work done in the community on ARK days (Acts of Random Kindness) that highlight volunteerism and helps develop empathy in our learners.

Were you aware of the fact that private schools in the United States do not need to follow state standards or a standardized testing schedule? We use this legal loophole to take government, it’s an unhealthy obsession with grades and standardized testing, and all their roadblocks out of our education model.

We believe that the learner and their family should have a voice in their education. Our educators work with each family to develop a personalized learning program and provide our students with project-based learning opportunities to give each learner the best chance to demonstrate their learning.

OUR COLLEGE & CAREER 4P PORTFOLIO

Learn more about our 4P Portfolio

The Kindest School focuses on the belief that, if you practice a growth mindset, empathize with others, and lend a helping hand in the community, you will be a far more productive member of our global society than the ones who can score higher on a standardized state test.

Hence, there will be no grades given to our learners…only data shared between parent, educator, and learner. We will not have report cards, rather students will be able to show their academic achievement through their 4P holistic learning portfolio, which is what many higher education learning institutions and employers are prioritizing over traditional report cards.

Portfolios are also required by many states for those who choose to learn from home.

We developed the 4P Portfolio to assist our students to showcase their unique personalities.

Students will record and share their progress in each of the four areas outlined below. An environmentally friendly school, The Kindest School will not use any textbooks, as they will be replaced by over 100,000 online or offline classes, which will allow our students to learn from skilled professionals in the areas that interest them the most.

PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENTS

Personal Achievement

We want our students to showcase their abilities in the arts and athletics, and this portion of the 4P Portfolio is designed to document all our students remarkable achievements that are not always present on a traditional report card.

We want to celebrate each of our learners passions, and give them a place to share their accomplishments with other students in the HomeRoom.

PURPOSEFUL LEARNING

PURPOSEFUL LEARNING

Our educators and families work together to choose the right learning opportunities for each learner.

This portion of the 4P Portfolio is used to showcase what they have learned by sharing a project that demonstrates what they have learned from each class that they participate in. Projects will vary depending on the length of each class and the subject. (For example, a student taking a course in cooking will have projects that are different from a student taking a course in computer programming.)

Every learner is unique, and no two portfolios will look the same.

PHILANTHROPIC EFFORTS

PHILANTHROPIC EFFORTS

We call our students the Kindest Generation for a reason. This generation is active in the community, and they inspire us.

We also believe that service-learning opportunities are the greatest chance we have to strengthen their empathy and develop a greater understanding of the world and its wonderful cultures and natural beauty. Therefore, we build one day a week for them to go and assist in their community.

We also understand that their time and service in action will be far more productive as an agent of change than an additional day in front of their screens.

Families of the Kindest Generation will decide which causes they would like to donate their time to, document their activity, and reflect on it every week.

POSITIVE PEOPLE

We do believe that there is power in positivity.

This part of their 4P Portfolio focuses on the positive people in each of our student’s lives, and is a place where they can share testimonials to their character from teachers, coaches, mentors, religious or community leaders, or anyone whose lives that they have impacted in a positive way!

In a world where it’s easy to focus on the negative, we spotlight the positive in each member of the Kindest Generation.

ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY

ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY

The Kindest School has a ZERO- TOLERANCE policy for bullying and harassment within our learning community.

If your child is being bullied by another member of the Kindest School, a screenshot of the incident is all we need to launch an investigation. If it is found that a member of The Kindest School is bullying, they will immediately be removed from the program for a minimum of one year. After this time, they will need to apply for reinstatement. A second offense will lead to immediate expulsion.

Bullying is an epidemic, not just in America, but around the world as well, and it simply will not be tolerated. Our mission is to give students a place to learn that is free of fear and full of kindness.

PATH TO ACCREDITATION

ACCREDITATION

In order for a school to be accredited, it needs to gather data from its entire community and that includes parents, students, and teachers. We, as a school, must provide evidence of learning to an accreditation agency. The Kindest School uses the latest in educational technology to track our student’s learning, and our 4P Portfolios will provide the evidence we need.

However, it is a long process that every school must go through as they start, and all members of the HomeRoom the program will be expected to help us in the process, be it as simple as completing surveys or volunteering to meet with members of the AdvancED accreditation agency.
